I’ve only learned about SPJ a short time ago, but its importance seems pretty obvious. Social networking, connections, and an outlet to constantly build your journalism skills is a necessity in any successful person’s life – especially those who are motivated to communicate to the public.

In 300 words or less, please tell us why you’re applying for your chosen position and what you will bring to e-board:

I chose this position, because I have experience in marketing and public relations. I believe that SPJ has great goals and purposes and projecting that to public (that isn’t necessarily directly invested in SPJ) could be vital to its success. After all, reputation is everything in a society run by communication channels.

My previous experience and passions can and will energize the journalist community. Using SPJ for that opportunity will elevate enthusiasm to our goals and create a growing interest from freshman year and on.
