In 300 words or less, please describe why SPJ is important:

SPJ is important because it brings journalists, not just from the University of Cincinnati together, but journalists from colleges and professionals all over the country. It promotes the basic reason that people are journalists, and that’s to get information about what is going on in the world out to the general public. SPJ also helps protect our First Amendment right to free speech, which is much needed in today’s world.

In 300 words or less, please tell us why you’re applying for your chosen position and what you will bring to e-board:

I am applying for the program coordinator position because planning events, get- together and other happenings with the SPJ would, and I feel, be a challenging and rewarding position to have. I will bring to the e-board new ideas, and eagerness to do new things. I will bring fun, but also the knowledge that it’s not all fun and games and that serious important things also need to be accomplished. I will use my social skills, amazing planning skills and determination to the position of program coordinator to SPJ, and I will do an outstanding job along the way.
