Journalism job fair!

If you have the means - monetary and transportation - you should look into this. It could be a great opportunity for you to meet some potential employers! (Thanks, Aiesha, for passing this on!)

If you are a student looking for your first job or internship, you are
invited to attend an ASNE-sponsored job fair at the convention of
newspaper editors at Historically Black Colleges and Universities
Saturday Feb. 14, in downtown Durham, N.C.

About 25-30 editors primarily from newspapers in the South will
be looking for candidates at this job fair. Recruiters from some
large national newspapers will also attend.

When: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Saturday Feb. 14, 2009.

Cost: Registration fee before Jan. 14: $35
Registration fee after Jan. 14: $50
Onsite registration fee: $50

You can sign up in advance for $35 and receive a full schedule of
interviews with editors throughout the day plus lunch.
Or, you can register at the job fair, pay $50 and spend an hour in
the morning and in late afternoon trying to talk to editors plus
lunch.

New feature this year: On Friday, we will hold a special half-day
Career Workshop. We'll have panels of recruiters and top editors
giving advice on:

* How to get the most out of the job fair.
* How to ace the interview.
* What to put in and leave out of your resume.

In the afternoon Resume Doctors will be available to examine
your resume.
